Upper SAB

The Lodge was pleased to welcome the San Antonio Spurs Foundation and Navasota Energy in for some R & R. Good thing because Redfishing continues strong despite the 20+ mph winds this weekend. All boats limited out while catching and releasing tons more all throughout the slot and beyond. Under these conditions, we are slamming bait at them which is most effective and we’re boating good numbers of fish.

The Island

Capt. Kris Kelley reported “we’re not quite there, but almost” Airboat Redfishing the back reaches of Matagorda Island. He indicated that there were fish in every area that he looked at with more in some places than others. His party released Redfish from the lower slot to oversized until their arms got tired. He also reported an unusual amount of grass and trash (pins/heads/rays) for as early as it is so, “heads up“. Life giving water is finding it’s way back there and the fish are moving with it.

Castaway Lodge News

We are pleased to welcome Yetter, Warden & Coleman, LLP to the lodge this evening. The fishing should be outstanding and the weather is taking a turn for the “ridiculously gorgeous”.

Come home when you can!
