Wing Fever, Texas Lizards & Flat Out Reds!

Predictions for diminishing winds approaching the weekend fell way short of anything that would settle things out a bit. All week, big winds have had us penned down over grass flats in search of Trout and concentrations of Redfish. Capt. Steve Boldt has been on fire with limits of Redfish coming out of the Port O area daily. Steve said the best bite is on the incoming tide with a noticeable slow down when the tide starts falling out. Solid Redfish action should only continue to build as we head through August into September.

Lizards

Gator season opens September 10th and closes on the 30th. Limited freshwater has got them penned up and it looks like an excellent opportunity at some serious "Texas Class" lizards.

Dove & Teal

We’ve still got plenty of openings for Cast N Blast combos for Dove & Teal. Early Teal Season opens September 12th with the South Zone Dove season set to open on Friday, September 18th. On Dove, we’ve got one opening left on the 18th, two spots left on Saturday the 19th, and three spots left on Sunday, the 20th. Ok, you could say we’re chomping at the bit to get the guns out. September brings the changing of the seasons, some cooler temps, awesome fishing and open season on the quick flying bullets of the coast. Arrive at The Lodge to Wendi’s legendary home cooking and awaken to some drag burning runs, bruised shoulders and blistered trigger fingers! Don’t stop there, settle in with some bacon wrapped breasts on the grill for an appetizer, sip a cool one, and get ready for that Rib-eye.South Texas in September, “it doesn’t get any better than that”.
