Capt. James Cunningham reported a big water fallout overnight with nagging West winds dropping bay levels substantially.

Full moon phase with early slick offs continued to make morning hunts a little bit tricky with just a huge disparity in morning and afternoon success.

Capt. James Cunningham shoots me a text at 7:30 am telling me he had just parked the airboat and that all our shallow back marsh potholes were frozen.

We've had some great hunts the past few days along with a few heartbreakers and "best laid plans" but all in all we're holding up between weather

Mostly strong shoots for guests during the opener with a mixed bag of among our 14 different species which can hit the blocks day in and day out.

The top water bite was good until mid-morning then changing over to soft plastics seem to do the trick."
