The Best of Fall action on the water begins to really kick off as temperatures climbed back up last week. From Oyster reefs to shallow flats and back lakes, drag ripping runs and humped up schools of solid Redfish and Black Drum were just a spectacle. Trout working shell tapers was just icing on the cake for our guests.
Wind catalysts moving forward on the calendar will be the igniter for a cool down on the temps and an explosive reaction on the rods. From wade fishing to casual boat fishing, the action and outlook couldn't get much better.
Environs
Back lake grass growth has exploded with the freshwater runoff over recent months. This is an under discussed positive bolstering a strengthening in the outlook of the health of the bays. From waterfowl hunting to fishing, the curve from hyper salination to more normal salinity levels is returning. This is the cyclical nature of conditions in the outdoors and the "trend is definitely our friend".
Texas Duck Hunting
Capt. James Cunningham reported a nice in migration of mixed Teal, Redheads, other big ducks on Friday. Concentrations build as we approach the opener end of this month.
Kayak Base
We are working on clearing and cleaning 180' of bayou frontage and have already got the Kayaking launch formed up. This will lead to miles of scenic touring and other more advanced trails and team building experiences in the future for our guests. Stay tuned.
