Duck/Fish
Well we're getting close to wrapping the 2015/16 Texas Waterfowl Season and it's just been a great season with enough challenges to keep us on our toes. The last cold front did little to bolster our efforts and seems to have potentially moved some birds out. This is the typical ebb and flow of any migration and I'm betteing we'll see a bounce back heading into the close. Pintail action has improved greatly as inland locations have begun to dry out. Teal are still missing in action and with higher water levels, it just makes sense.
We've been seeing a lot of fish prowling around after duck hunts but you'd think we're looking at a mirage with light action on the rods of late. We'll be deciphering much of this moving forward into February and really baring down on them. Winter is starting to sink in up North and it will be interesting to see if we are on a typical Spring pattern or whether the calendar will be advanced or retarded from seasonal norms. I'd be paying attention to the weather and keeping an eye on temperatures. If we get into an "Indian Spring" you might want to dust the slay stick off and get ready to bow-up!
