We've been catching nice stringers of Trout and decent Redfish numbers when we get a little wind blowing. It's way past starting to get hot out there but big Trout have been really pushing up the temperature levels as they start staging for the August spawn. We're running into these fish over mud/grass right now.
Big August winds are traditionally when we encounter them so we're just a touch ahead of schedule which is fine with us. We're doing the best we can to get these fish released alive but that's regrettably not possible all the time.
We look for Redfish action to start really blowing up moving into August as well so we'll see if seasonality holds true. Turbidity in the broader bay environs is still a big issue and we hope to see some better mixing with stronger tides moving into the Fall.
Alligator Season, Teal, Dove, Cast & Blast
The Texas Wild Alligator Season for 2015 kicks off on September 10th and runs
through the 30th. We've got openings if anyone's interested in some big lizards.
