Countdown To The Last Cold Front of Spring!

Yes Virginia, The Fishing Sucked for us too!

The best bite I saw this weekend was at Bob’s Bar in Port O’Connor! We elected to re-schedule all groups for this weekend “to greener pastures” with the exception of one that couldn’t reschedule and it sucked royally. On a brighter note, with the passing of this sytem, we’re one more cold front closer to “the last” cold fronts of the Spring.

Wadefishing Artificials

We’re right around the corner from some serious breakout fishing with artificial lures. Despite this latest chilling blast, water temperatures are climbing daily. We’d love to introduce you to the best that Brown Lures offers while getting all “bowed-up” in the naclh2o! Les go, les go, les go!

Airboat Redfishing

Some serious airboat redfishing is right around the corner according to Capt. Kris Kelley. He indicated we’ve yet to get our Spring Tide fully in place but we are just days away from doing so. Once the water hits the flats, it’s going to be on. He said if it’s anything like the 2008 season, it’s just going to be awesome!

Castaway Lodge News

We’ve just updated our website retaining all the best downloads and we like to think it’s “light, bright, neutral & optimized”. Check it out at http://www.seadriftbayfishing.com The site is “interactive” and you can register as a User on this site which will allow commentary, feedback, and questions on the fishing reports blog as well as receiving “special offerings, tips, news, and upcoming events”.

Speaking of airboats, we just ordered our new American Airboats 20 x 8 Air Ranger Guide Edition “raked” with a 496 Levitator, Shadow Grass Camo, and new cutting edge Whirlwind Whisper Tip propeller technology. This will be a great edition to our existing air logistics capabilities.

Economics & The Economy

We are approaching our fiscal year end and this information just hit my e-mail. For our fiscal year starting 4/1/08 and ending 3/31/09, Castaway Lodge, Inc. is experiencing between 27 to 38% growth in all business sectors but most importantly Texas Saltwater Fishing; Texas duck hunting; and Castaway Lodging. The fastest growing Texas Fishing & Hunting Lodge on the gulf coast? Who is to say, but it's a good possibility! We owe it all to our clients who are "the friends & family" of Castaway Lodge, Thank You from all of us at The Lodge.

What’s going on? We are experiencing a surge in the number of business minded guests that are entertaining clients with us and “working the room” so to speak. They are also using The Lodge as a backdrop to entertain their employees to boost morale presently. In times of great economic gains, this isn’t always the case. So, if you wonder what your competition is doing, they are hustling customers, sealing deals, solidifying relationships, maintaining and gaining presently, and keeping the natives happy while enjoying the best of the Texas Gulf Coast. Meetings, team building, employee events range in deductibility from 50% to 100%.

Come home to Castaway Lodge!
