Schooling Black Drum are starting to mix with Redfish as they head for the spawning grounds of the far back reaches. Tides will push them around and send them probing the shallowest of locales, scurrying to the safer depths of the deeper back lakes on tide fallouts and temperature shifts.
Construction progress has hit a feverish pitch of late as we've gained some major traction heading toward completion. Interior framing is pretty much a wrap and we've got windows and doors being installed at present along with other trades roughing-in.
The fish are presently located on soft bottoms over mud/grass which is a classic early Spring pattern. Exactly how long they'll hold there remains to be seen.

We're getting a grip on the calendar as we push "all in" into fishing now that duck season is closed. Between, you, me, the fish, and a fence post I think we're going to have to figure out where we are on the calendar "seasonality" wise.
It will be interesting to see what February holds? Is Winter finally going to kick in strong or are we going for an "Indian Spring". I'm betting on the latter and that's going to get the reels respooled immediately.
When things get tough, we get busy and it's best never to pre-judge tomorrow's results based on today's hunting or fishing. Ha, i've seen days where the fishing is on a straight B-line downhill only to hit the water the next day and have them jumping in the boat.
